PARKERSBURG — Faculty members from West Virginia University at Parkersburg are collaborating with the West Virginia Department of Education to deliver specialized pedagogy training for Career and Technical Education (CTE) staff. This initiative aims to bolster the skills and effectiveness of educators statewide, ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of their students.
The training program was initiated by Adam Canter, the director of CTE programs at the West Virginia Department of Education and a proud alumnus of WVUP. Recognizing the importance of continuous professional development for educators, Canter reached out to the university to create a comprehensive training framework that emphasizes innovative teaching strategies and best practices in CTE.
Through this partnership, educators will gain valuable insights into effective instructional methods, enhancing their ability to engage students and improve learning outcomes. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both WVUP and the WVDE to foster a skilled workforce in West Virginia, ultimately benefiting students and the broader community.
