Students at Grand Rapids Community College looking to continue their education at a four-year institution have a valuable opportunity this month. A dedicated workshop, the ALAS Community Circle, is designed to guide learners through the often-complex college transfer system.
Hosted by the college's Woodrick Center for Inclusion and Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with the University of Michigan’s Transfer Bridges program, the event promises practical advice and firsthand insight. Guest speaker Leanne Challa, a representative from U-M Transfer Bridges, will lead the in-person discussion, scheduled for Monday, March 16.
The session aims to provide clarity on credit articulation, application timelines, and campus integration strategies. Such initiatives are critical in bridging the gap between community colleges and universities, ensuring students can navigate academic requirements and administrative procedures with greater confidence. By demystifying the transfer pathway, the workshop supports educational advancement and long-term student success, making higher education more accessible and understandable for all aspiring graduates.
