Fox Corporation has donated one million dollars to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a move aimed at supporting educational programs around the world. The announcement was made on "Fox & Friends," where Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans discussed the partnership and the impact of the funding.
Evans explained that the money will be used to help children in underserved communities gain access to learning opportunities, particularly in regions where education is disrupted by poverty or conflict. The fund combines the global reach of FIFA, the world soccer governing body, with the advocacy network of Global Citizen, an organization focused on ending extreme poverty.
"This donation is about using the power of sport and media to drive real change," Evans said during the interview. He noted that the timing aligns with the growing momentum around major international sporting events, which often serve as platforms for social initiatives.
Fox Corp's contribution is part of a broader effort by the company to support education and youth development. The funds are expected to support teacher training, school infrastructure, and digital learning tools in multiple countries. While specific project locations were not detailed, Evans emphasized that the goal is to create lasting opportunities for children who might otherwise be left behind.
The partnership highlights a trend of corporations linking with global nonprofits and sports organizations to address systemic issues. For Fox, the donation also reinforces its commitment to public service programming and community outreach.
