ESD 105 Welcomes Stephanie Sevigny to Board of Directors

Educational Service District 105 has officially appointed Stephanie Sevigny to its board of directors, a move that brings a unique combination of military leadership, classroom experience, and business acumen to the regional education body. Sevigny was sworn into her new role on Tuesday, marking the beginning of her term serving the district that supports 25 school systems across south-central Washington.

Sevigny’s background is notably diverse. A retired U.S. Army officer, she spent more than two decades in service, where she developed expertise in strategic planning, crisis management, and team building. Following her military career, she transitioned into education, working as a classroom teacher and later as a school administrator. In these roles, she gained firsthand insight into the challenges facing both students and educators. Additionally, Sevigny has run her own consulting business, advising schools and nonprofits on leadership development and organizational efficiency.

Her appointment comes at a time when ESD 105 is focusing on expanding career-connected learning opportunities and addressing teacher shortages. Board members expressed confidence that Sevigny’s multifaceted perspective will help guide policy decisions that benefit the region’s nearly 60,000 students. “Stephanie understands what it takes to lead in high-pressure environments, and she also knows what happens inside a classroom,” one board representative noted. “That combination is rare and valuable.”

Sevigny said she is eager to contribute, particularly in areas where she can bridge the gap between educational needs and community resources. Her term is expected to last through the current board cycle, with the possibility of reappointment.
