A diverse group of individuals plays a crucial role in the life of my disabled daughter, providing her with the care, support, and opportunities she needs to thrive. These dedicated professionals, including teachers, therapists, and caregivers, form a constellation of support that is essential for her development and well-being. However, recent cuts to education and Medicaid threaten to dismantle this vital network.
The impact of these budget cuts could be devastating. Without adequate funding, schools may be forced to reduce special education programs, limiting access to essential resources and services. Similarly, cuts to Medicaid could jeopardize the availability of necessary therapies and medical care that my daughter relies on.
As parents, we are left in a state of uncertainty, worrying about the future of our children. The potential loss of these invaluable support systems not only affects our families but also raises questions about the broader implications for society as a whole. Ensuring that our children receive the care they deserve must remain a priority.
