Nearly 50 students graduate from DACC adult education program

Doña Ana Community College recently honored more than 40 adult learners who completed their GED or HiSET diplomas. Two separate ceremonies were held, one in Sunland Park and another in Las Cruces, to recognize the graduates and their hard work.

The adult education program at DACC provides a second chance for many students who were unable to finish high school through the traditional route. For these graduates, earning a high school equivalency credential opens doors to better jobs, higher education, and new opportunities. The ceremonies were a celebration of perseverance, with many students balancing jobs, family responsibilities, and coursework to reach this milestone.

Instructors and program coordinators spoke about the dedication shown by the graduates, noting that the journey was not easy but was well worth the effort. Family members and friends filled the auditoriums to cheer on the new graduates, many of whom were the first in their families to earn such a credential.

The college continues to offer free classes and support services for adults looking to earn their GED or HiSET. With these nearly 50 new graduates, DACC reaffirms its commitment to helping adult learners succeed and build a stronger future for themselves and their communities.
